The Do Follow Movement

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

A burning debate at blogosphere now a days, is the ‘do follow’ movement. Almost all bloggers are much aware of the no follow/do follow links, but still many things are confusing in it. Mostly people take ‘no follow’ as a link not followed by search engines, and hence they avoid it considering it useless. But in actual the function of no follow varies in different search engines. All the search engines follow this link but google doesn’t index it while yahoo and some others do index the page as well.

With this reference the do follow movement now a days is the hot topic to discuss. Many bloggers are removing the no follow from their comments and are letting others to share the PR juice. This is good for new blogs to develop their readership, content via comments and of course popularity, but what if they again put the no follow thing if they get decent PR.

I’ve been round the do follow blogs for a week or so, and almost all are happy following others, but I didn’t find any of them talking about the future perspective. I’m in search of few answers in this regard, but still not sure who’ll answer them. I asked some of do followers but didn’t get the point or either they didn’t understand what I meant.

Anyways, the do follow buzz is hot now a days, let’s see if the no follow comes to happen again. Any views will be highly appreciated.

Some Good Blogs Round The Blogosphere

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Being a blogger, reading others’ blogs is as important as writing your own blog is. This is not only to get updated information and to keep in touch with blogosphere, but also post best on your own blog. I myself when reading other blogs do not consider the content only, but the presentation, writing style, writer/reader interaction, design, new features etc as well. And this makes me discover a new thing every time I visit a new blog.

Now a days I’m much in Internet Marketing, researching and analyzing, and off course googling some SEO and Internet marketing blogs. I’ve learnt a lot from these blogs, like DOs and DONTs, strategies and techniques etc. besides that, what I’ve come up with is to develop a different writing style. Being a writer, I’ve always been in quest of polishing my skills, but while being in Internet Marketing, you need something more.

I’ve been reading many Internet marketing blogs for some days, but those, which gimmicked my attention most, were Virtual Marketing Blog and Jim Boykins’ Internet Marketing Blog. The former one is best in explaining point to point, while the later is one I’m in love with the writing style. Recently I’ve a read of SEOs are from Mars Domineers are from Uranus on the later mentioned blog. It’s something worth reading.

Not forcing but just informing visitors/readers here, that if they are looking for some reliable information that is written in structured English and can be easily understood, have a read of some posts on the above mentioned blogs. I’ll keep on writing about some other good blogs as soon as I find them.

Manual Review of Millions of Blogs: The Quality Demand At Blogosphere

Friday, September 21st, 2007

They probably heard the thought in mind that I discussed a day earlier about the quality maintenance at Blog Rush instantly, and I (actually) along with many other bloggers (probably) who joined the network have got an email from Blog Rush stating the quality control matter.

According to the mail within five days of launch the network is bumped with about 40 million blog headlines including post titles and the links to full posts and every morning is bringing a load heavier than the one at day before. And in the scenario where true bloggers are on the way to be an effective part of the network, some cheaters are abusing the system by running scripts to auto load the widget etc.

Encountering this sort of some other problems, Blog Rush team has decided to have a QUALITY check on the system by implementing a MANUAL REVIEW process whereby each and every entry will be manually reviewed by the Blog Rush team and all the fraudulent will be removed. That’s in fact a very good step but the thing made me more confused is the manual review of millions of blogs.

Let’s see how Blog Rush team makes this but it’ll really be a hard time at their end!
