Rushing The Blogosphere!

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

I just happened to read about Blog Rush a few days back on DP, I think. Didn’t understand much, how it works but signed up to peep inside. Later it was Blog Rush everywhere, DP, v7n and Bloggeries Blog Forum. After “Blogging to Fame” it was second blogosphere activity I found getting so much popularity with maximum velocity.

Up till now almost thousand of bloggers would have blogged about it, so nothing much to say what it is and how does it work. In a nutshell a blog syndication network rewarding users with quality traffic and exposure, the only thing you’ve to do is to place a Blog Rush wideget on your blog.

The thing I want to have word on is not the potential of this service but the future of quality. It’s been observed, it got so much popular in a short span of week, and of course getting such popularity peak in a limited time will boost the service as well. The thing to care about is will it be able to maintain quality blogs.

Well, I’ll probably get this answer after sometime, and till then hope to enjoy some more readership if I happened to have!

Does PR Really Count?

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

I myself being a learner didn’t ever go to an in-depth analysis of SEO tools and techniques, but the thing that I’ve spent most of the time researching about is PR. It was a time when I didn’t know about it and know I know quite enough but still not sure whether I’m right. I, however, will mention the only things I found reading most of the SEO articles and discussing with some SEO gurus as well.

PR (even the experts don’t know, the exact basis on which Google construct this rank thing) according to the analysis of most of the SEO experts is the essence of ‘quality links’ a site has. This quality in fact has more than one dimension, i.e. PR of the site where link has been placed, the quality content there, relevancy of the two sites linking with each other etc. This means if you’re having a backlink at PR +6 site that link will have more value than 100 links at PR2 site or so. Similarly if your link is placed with too many other links and no content is there on that page, the link will probably have no value. And if your site is selling exercising equipment and your link is found a high PR SEO blog, that might be suspicious for SEs and you wont get any credit for that link.

After this short brainstorming, the question that arises in the mind is, is considering only high PR links while link building a wise act? I don’t think so it is, and the justification is what I analyzed above. PR counts but not alone!

Argus Vision: A Quality Web Directory

Friday, September 14th, 2007

While selecting a best general directory to submit site or blog, the most important thing one should consider is the position of the directory including its PR, naOne of the general directories with all positive points in these concerns is Argus Vision Directory providing regular, featured and deep links in a wide range of categories.

The most prominent feature of the directory is the well-maintained quality of links strictly following the guidelines that results as maximum exposure to the listed sites. The directory accepts only quality sites, and the editors approve all the sites listed in there after a strict review. Besides that the superb design by Zeb and complex category structure is also worth mentioning. The only thing that’ll trouble you in the directory is to explore such a wide range of categories, but the pleasant element is the high PR and the strength of each of the category.

What benefit actually a site or a blog gets getting submitted in Argus Vision is the visibility in search engines for relevant terms, traffic from the directory, and certainly a quality link that’s far better than hundreds of PR4 links. All this is what one needs for a better link building and marketing of his site. Though there’re some more directories with same PR and strength but the difference that Argus Vision makes, lets it to be a quality web directory.

If you’re building links for your site and going for directory submission, Argus Vision will be the best choice without any doubt.
