Choosing a good web host for your blog is the main concern if you’re planning to be a professional blogger. And experts are of the opinion that it’s the major factor of your success as well. As important it is, it’s also difficult for one to select the best one, but if you’ve outlined particular criteria, it becomes quite easy. Here’s a short overview of how can you make your choice best:

Reliability: Keep it as basic requisite, as it matters a lot. You must ensure that your data is in safe hands.

Research: A variety of hosts is available online, but it’s you who has to find one that best meets your requirements. Search and ask people about their experience with some of the hosts. It’ll clear things up for you.

Avoid Scams: There are many hosting services that offer resellers, and those resellers claim their selves as a hosting company. Such reseller hostings may be not that reliable. Some other hosting services buy reviews, so avoid scams by asking directly to the people about their experience.

Don’t Buy Bulk Hosting: If you’re not sure about any service or it’s your first time, go for trial, or test it for a month or so, don’t pay for 3 or so years to get discount.

Maintain Quality: If you’re going for some cheap hosting, be sure that quality is good. And in case you don’t get one, paying a little more can serve well.

Video Blogging or Podcasting is the rocking blogging field now a days, so you must give your blog a video touch if you’re not going for a specific video blog, i.e. have clips added to your blog posts. Youtube can better serve you, but having unique videos will work more.

What you need to do is to invest in a good camera with high resolution and output. It’s for people who are professional bloggers and really want to make their blog a trend setter or a leading one in the industry. Capture the picture and let the be live on your blog. Lights are very crucial in creating videoblog. Quality of picture should be good so that readers can feel better.

You can also make your video better through some video editing software and can add sounds and picture as you like and delete whatever you do not want. Some of the programs are user friendly and can be use without any professional knowledge.

Creativity will play vital role here so you need to be creative as well. Th more creative you are the easier and faster your video blogging will be for you. It can be a bit negative also, i.e. load on sever, but managing your blog professionally can make it more reader oriented and later will provide you with good monetization options as well.

It’s time for you to have a blog of your own. It’s none too difficult now to have a blog, and rock the World Wide Web with it. The most important issue in this regard that almost every emerging blogger is confused at is having a free hosted blog or one with paid hosting.

I think both are effective and have some advantages and disadvantages as well. Let’s start from free hosting. It’s something you just have to blog and blog about things you want to have your say on. No need to care about technical issues as they all are solved at hosts end. While when you’ve your own domain hosted for a particular amount, you’re to manage it as a whole.

It seems that free hosting goes well, but the major problem is on free hosting you can’t well monetize your blog, as most of free hostings do not allow such scripts. Besides that free hosting is just like a rented place. You’re not the owner, and the real owner can ask you any time to vacant his domain.

It’s whole up to you to decide, what you’re more comfortable with!

In todays internet world, the most important is how to let others know about you, this is what we also name as marketing. Blogging being a top tool of internet marketing rules. But this rule depends on the effectiveness of blog which can be determined by it’s content, skin or layout, presence of graphics, categories, and timely update.

Starting with skin, which gives the first impression to your visitor you need to have an in depth association with the color psychology of different age groups. According to a research, the teens love bright colors while people above 25 admire cool and sober colors. So keep in mind the the age of your readers and have a skin which can satisfy many age groups.

With reference to the Search Engines, the content is king, so paying more attention to improve it’s quality is not less important than the theme. Even most of the people consider content more than the layout. Never use duplicated content, that will make the search engines to throw you at the back. Keep you content live by putting relevant images and graphics as picture says more than words.

Having more categories improves your blog’s visibility, but it’s not necessary to build the categories over night, you can do it slowly and gradually. And the most important thing is to update your blog on regular basis. Updating the blog frequently lets Search Engine spiders crawl more frequently.

Whether it’s part time activity or a professional blogging concern, the ultimate desire of the blogger is to have maximum readers. It takes enough time for bloggers to create unique content. Whether it’s the labor of love or monetizing the blog, the blogger need visitors. The quality content which is the result of an effort may go useless if it’s left unread. The only way to increase the visitors is to make your blog visible to major search engines. Reading SEO articles and e books can make a difference for you if they’re not too long! After reading a list of such articles the only thing I understood is that SEO is not a piece of cake, it needs you to be fully involve in it and only then you’ll be able to link some of the concepts, strategies and methods. Not making it a too long post, I’ll sum up some guidelines to make a blog visible to the search engines. These guidelines can be categorized as DOs and DONTs.

Let’s start with DOs:

DOs side includes your part of efforts at first, they are as follows

Never compromise on the quality of your content.

Use the keywords matching to the theme of your blog, do not bomb the posts with irrelevant keywords.

Write freestyle; what you want to write, and what you think your readers are interested in.

While planning to write a blogpost, place yourself in readers’ shoes and think the topics he’e interested in and will love to google about.

The most importanr fact one needs to be aware of while being a blogger is that Search Engines robots are always in search of updated blog content, so update your blog atleast twice a week. If you’re done with the above mentioned efforts, keep other things on machine.

Second part of DOs is a bit technical, but none too difficult to understand. Here goes an outline:

Let the Search Engines crawler crawl your blog at more fater rate, this can be done by keeping a robots.txt file in you domain or sub domain.

Putting sitemap in XML or txt together with the robots.txt can be a better option. This helps the Search engine crawling not only faster but also regular.

Visiting other blogs of the same nature and placing comments there, linking back to your own blog brings quality traffic to your blog. The people who visit your blog from the such links are certain readers, and quality content on your blog can make them a permanent one.

Let’s have an overview of DONTs now.

Do not ever copy the content from any other website or blog, this will let the Search Engine to send to back in the Search Results.

Linking is good, but always keep in mind while building links that the websites or blogs you’re going to link are related to your blogging criteria. Search Engines don not consider the irrelevant links and identify them as artificial ones.

Avoid Java Scripts in your blog till the possible extent. Use of HTML and PHP is recommended by most of the SEO experts.

It’s also an issue that Search engines’ crawling is not that efective in framed pages as it’s in non framed ones, so do not use frames on your blog.
