Monday, September 10th, 2007

Commenting on other blogs, as it’s one of the best ways to build your network on one hand and to increase your blog’s visibility to other bloggers on other. The question of utmost importance in day-to-day blogging arena is why actually the networking is necessary? Off course, this is to let your blog linked with other related blogs and increase your reardership along with some good visits, that may help monetizing it in a better way.

Many people comment on other blogs to increase their blogging network but fail. The common practice identified in this regard is the quick deletion of your comments from some of the blogs that lets you disconnected from the network. What’s the reason behind this is a sixty-four thousands dollar question!

Quality blogs delete the comments, which aim to place a link back only, are spammed with too many links in the message, irrelevant to the post, and are abusive. So while commenting on blogs, avoid all such things and care for the following five things:

  • Consider blog commenting as relationship building.
  • Comment on the posts, which you really understand and have your opinion to present.
  • Be polite and do constructive criticism.
  • If you’re not sure about something, then avoid commenting.
  • Never comment without reading the post.

These are few guidelines that may help new bloggers to build an effective blogging circle. You’ll learn more and more if you succeed to establish a good network in this way.

Blog Submission: A Free Directory Or A Paid One?

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

After getting done with the blogging ideas and placing some super content on the blog, it just starts working. In order to accelerate the blogging process, blog promotion stands as an essential element. Submitting a blog to different directories is none too different than that of a normal website submission, but making it different works much in a much better way. Generally, a website and a blog have no difference except the purpose, so the variation in purposes demands for an altered course of action while building links for a blog.

Directories being the master linking tools for blog promotion outstand in the submission process, but need careful attention as well. Adding URL of your blog to each and every directory is not a wise idea, as it may not help building Google’s most admirable natural links. Link popularity as another area of discussion and of course of utmost importance as well does need as many links as possible, but going after this may harm a blog’s SE ranking if linking is improper, i.e. irrelevant.

Most of the bloggers make mistake by thinking that blog will rock if it is submitted to each and every free directory. Free directories do work, but not all, so before linking to a free directory do check its presence in SEs, strength, and of course PR. This search of free directories may take time, but will return quality links. The other thing can be done to avoid all this is to add the blog in paid directories. Paid directories, as they charge duly promote the blog along with offering featured listing, which gives maximum exposure.

Directory submission works very efficiently but only if you want to let it do so, just by giving a little more time or money.
